Wooramel Station

Wooramel Station Stay is a unique spot.

With a choice of accommodation styles including glamping, camping and motel units (dongers) plus grassed or riverside caravan bays.

We stayed (again) at the riverside bays and enjoyed the large bays and the space you have in your bay to the other van next door.

The river itself was, again, a dry creek bed as there hadn’t been any recent rains to make it flow.

Most of the year the river flows underground unless there have been large storms.

The large river gums create a perfect backdrop and are home to a wide variety of birds from parrots to cockatoos, Kookaburras and even a bird of prey.

One of the main attractions is the thermal hot tubs.

Heated water comes under pressure from 240m below ground and is piped into 4 pools that are at a constant 33 degrees.

A great soak and relax.  A chat with fellow travellers is on the cards as the pools will seat about 8-10 people.

[A word of advice! don’t wear white!!!]

There are a couple of walks you can do or even explore the old tip and see some of the stations’ history told in what has been left behind.
