Perenjori Caravan Park

Out into the Wheatbelt, we head in search of wildflowers.

Between Wubin and Morawa we settle on Perenjori as our base for a couple of days searching for as many wildflowers as we can.

The park is run by the council and is well looked after.  Behind a rudimentary camp kitchen is an older amenities block with a newer one closer to town.

A nice spot to camp for a couple of nights although a turn in the weather had us rugging up – it certainly wasn’t Coral Bay!

As with all of these towns at wildflower time I recommend going to the visitors centre.  They will have the latest news on the best places to go and see the local wildflowers.

The heat in the weeks leading up to our stay meant that some of the flowers, orchids, in particular, had already finished for the season.

Just north of town, close to the road was an old gravel pit that had a great selection of wreath flowers.  Up until then the biggest collection we had seen in one spot since Pindar a couple of years ago.
