If your game, it’s a 45-minute walk from town or you will need a 4WD to get to Five Fingers Reef.
And you will definitely need to let down your tyres to about 18psi.
You can see it from the ground once you work out what you are looking for, but from the air you can see 5 fingers of the hard reef, all aligned, jutting out into the ocean.
Protected from the big waves, that you can see on the horizon, of the Ningaloo Reef, Five Fingers is a great day out for the family for swimming, snorkelling and enjoying the crystal clear waters and pure white sands.
Distance from Perth:
1,126KM (11.75hrs)
Five Fingers Reef is
without a doubt the BEST place I have ever snorkelled.
You walk to the edge of the water, go in, and within a metre, you are seeing coral, fish of all colours and sizes – and then a turtle swims past!
It’s truly amazing and you don’t have to go far to see some wonderful sights.
Swimming alongside a turtle in the wild is an experience to remember.
These pics have been taken on a (relatively) cheap action camera showing that you can still capture memories of blue clams, coffin rays, turtles and ‘Nemo’ fish!
