Bullara Station

Photo of the entrance sign to Bullara Station

Our first time at Bullara station and it didn’t disappoint.

Our bay was a great size in the new(ish) Camp Fossil zone.  The amenities block was new, clean and a really good size.

It was located centrally to the Fossil zone very convenient to all.

We had a designated fire pit next to our bay which was a great place to sit and have an afternoon catch-up with neighbours.

Walking around the campsite is an experience in itself.  Like the quirky bottle tree and other things, you don’t see elsewhere like the goats that sit in their paddock atop an old car.

There is a friendly kangaroo that hangs around just south of the campsite as well.

We took up the offer for a drive to the Exmouth Gulf along one of the station tracks.

This takes you past a boat ramp where you can launch into the creek and down to the coast.

With bathers and towels in the car, we drove as close to the water as we could – only to discover that it’s mangrove tidal flats and the tide was out!  Way out!

After a quick walk around the mangroves (a first for me), we retreated back to the open hut atop a nearby crest to sit back and enjoy the view.

Bullara is only 91 km from Exmouth so we took the hour drive and went into town to check out some of the local craft beers.

Very Nice!  We’ll definitely be back next time we are up this way.

Flynn the Manchester Terrier even got into the swing of pub life.

If you need to resupply for anything Exmouth has it all.

The famous Lava Trees of Bullara Station

Bullara is known for its quirky outdoor showers under the trees plus the famous Lava Trees – just in case you need to go!

They also have a small cafe that is famous for its scones and coffee.

We had to test them and we approve!  Yummy!

If walking around the campsite isn’t enough then there are 3 walks into the station that you can complete at your own pace.

We walked out to sunset Hill on the bottle path (during the morning) and enjoyed the views over the surrounding station lands.

A unique, relaxing and special place Bullara has as much to offer as you want to make it.

We’ll be back one day!
